Three Beverly Hills Freedom Rally participants arrested for Capitol riot
The FBI has arrested three people from Beverly Hills for participating in the United States Capitol Riot earlier this month.
Gina Bisignano, who owns Gina’s Eyelashes and Skincare on North Camden Drive, was arrested Tuesday morning from her Beverly Hills apartment. Several videos of her attending the riot have circulated online, in which she can be heard encouraging attackers.
The FBI also arrested Simone Gold and John Strand Monday. Gold was among several physicians who alleged hydroxychloroquine can cure the coronavirus last year, despite no scientific evidence supporting the claim. She has also been critical of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Bisignano was charged with civil disorder, destruction of government property, aiding and abetting, obstruction of an official proceeding and violent entry. According to the Los Angeles Times, her preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 4.
Federal prosecutors charged Gold and Strand with entering a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct. Gold is scheduled for a virtual hearing Thursday. According to the LA Times, no court date has been scheduled for Strand.
Bisignano, Strand and Gold have all attended the Beverly Hills Freedom Rally, which is a weekly protest that criticizes the State of California’s COVID-19 health and safety guidelines and expresses support for former President Donald Trump.
FBI Spokesperson Laura Eimiller said the arrests occurred without any incidents and the FBI was assisted by the Beverly Hills Police Department.
